How to get Duke Nuk'em 3d working in 3D stereo video mode?
                  Useing the 3dpatch(dukeful_.zip)

First, you have to be patient! The switching to the displaymode
required to run 3d is very buggy implemented. It's not unusual
that I have to start the game 5 to 10 times before I get a
stable screen!

Second, you have to turn off the music! I don't know why just the
midi makes the screen flickering, but you can have the digital
sound playing while you're playing in perfect 3D. Only with midi
it's buggy.

Third, you have to be patient! The focuspoint lies on a very
strange point in the screen so you will have to cross your
eyes (just as you do it by viewing a SIRD) to be able to see a
3D image.

What do you need to run Duke Nuk'em 3D in stereo?

If you have the registered version 1.3d you're lucky. Just get
the patch and feel fine! ( the atomic edition won't work!,patch is for
1.3D full and a seprate patch for shareware v1.0 )

A Note About the shareware version patch:

It seems that this patch was designed for version 1.0. I could not
find version 1.0 on the net, so I could not try it out. The only thing
I know is, that the sw3dpatch doesn't work with versions 1.1 and 1.3d!
I don't know if there are any other versions of duke shareware. If you
find something that works - please send me an email!

Then you need only the Scitech Display Doctor 5.3 or above and then
finally you will be able to play Duke Nuk'em 3d in 3D!

And now the world's fine?

No, not at all! The problem is the following: There seems to be a
bug in the palette in the patched Duke.exe! There are things that
won't look too good with the 3d-version of Duke Nuk'em 3d.

Any other things worth knowing?

Well, if you've got some red/green or red/blue-glasses you can play
Duke Nuk'em 3d (any version - WITHOUT the 3dpatch) in real 3d (well
kind of). Just edit the duke3d.cfg file, set screenmode to 6 (crystal
eyes), put on your glasses and you will be able to play Duke in 3d,
in somewhat like black and white, without interlace or page flipping.

Well, that's all for now, remember that crossing your eyes causes
headaches (at least to me), so play fast, kill many, exit soon!

Have fun with it,
Joerg!
