Duke Nukem: Atomic Heretic v1.14 contained 16 Heretic levels converted to Duke Nukem 3D. According the the text doc all the levels were going to be done but only the first 2 episodes were finished as far as I know. As someone who has played Heretic many times this TC is okay but nothing special. Since I knew the levels I was able to blast right through them. There are a few small changes like bonus health items, mini ammo packs and modified steroids that are nice but it's still Duke and the aliens in the Heretic maps. Some things look out of place like metal barrels instead of wooden ones and nuke buttons to end some levels. For someone not familiar with the Heretic level layout this TC will be pretty hard the first play through. If Duke and the aliens had to use weapons more like the ones in the original Heretic and the level detail was more faithful to the original this would make a much nicer TC. The story line is that Duke and the aliens get transported into the past. Where does all the weapons, ammo and health come from? Was it all transported with them? As it stands I rate it as fair with 2 out of 5 stars.
